SEAMAN, Patricia….

Patricia Seaman (previously Hey) passed away peacefully at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, London, on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in her 95th year.  Beloved wife to the late Peter Hey who passed away in 1981.  Loving Mum to Glenda Thomas and her husband Chuck and Eric Hey and his wife Marianne.  Loving Nan to Sara and Jason Thomas and Nana to Brandon and Collin Hey.  Loving Great Grandmother to Jillian Garrison and Estelle Marie Hey.

Patricia was born and raised in Ealing, West London, England.  Her parents, Florence and Walter Hawley, celebrated the birth of their only child, but her father passed away in 1929 when Patricia was only 3 years old.  Patricia and her Mum were very close and lived together all through WWII, making many trips to their air raid shelter.  Patricia worked at Tecalemit Ltd., a munitions factory in London, for her contribution to the War Effort, and could tell a person many stories of her life in London during the war.

Patricia met Peter Hey while he was on leave in the early part of the War.  Peter served in the British 8th Army in North Africa and Italy for the entire 6 year duration of the war.  Patricia and Peter were married on June 21st, 1947.  They enjoyed a very loving and happy marriage until Peter passed away March 6, 1981.

Patricia immigrated to Canada with Peter and their son, Eric, in 1953, where their daughter Glenda was born.  Patricia was a homemaker for many years after their arrival in Canada, where she raised her two children.  She was an avid knitter and enjoyed sewing things for her home and children.  She enjoyed travelling later on in life.

Mum/Nan/Nana, as she was known by her family, was a lifelong and dedicated tea lover.  She took great pleasure in putting the kettle on to make one of her most enjoyed creations, a good cuppa tea!

A private family service will be held.  Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund (Canada), 400-410 Adelaide Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 1S8 or St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, PO Box 5777, Station B, London, ON N6A 4V2.  Arrangements entrusted with A.
