MacLEAN, Ian....

It is with heartfelt sadness that we wish to announce the passing of Ian MacLean on Friday, May 24, 2019, with his family at his side at home. He was the beloved husband of Silvia MacLean for 43 years and is survived by his four sons, Michael (Kelly), Peter, Christopher (Andrea) and Daniel. As well, he is also survived by his much-loved grandson, Jack, and beloved granddaughter, Isabel. Jack and Isabel gave him great joy and love. Ian leaves behind his treasured cats (Lug and D.J.) who were a great comfort to him. Ian was born in Walkerton, Ontario and is predeceased by his mother, Florence Gilchrist (1977) and his father, John MacLean (1979). He spent much of his life working in retail. The greatest gift that Ian leaves behind is his love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

A very special thank-you to the outstanding care he received from his medical team: Dr. Tetelbaum, Dr. Logan and Dr. Hamilton and his amazing palliative team. Thank-you also to the nurses (LHIN) and PSWs (Paramed) who helped care for Ian.

Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 10-11 am at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be held at 11 am. Private interment in Purdy's Cemetery, Cargill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program, 747 Base Line Road East, London, ON N6C 2R6 or to Plan International Canada, 300-245 Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto, ON M4P 0B3.
