I have many fond memories of my coffee and cookie visits with Remy. Just last weekend I opened a jar of her famous blueberry jam. Her thoughtful support of the patients and residents at Parkwood changed many lives. I will miss her dearly. My sincere condolences to her family.

Tita Remy was introduced to me by her beloved sister and a good and very close friend of mine, Ate Amelia. Although we just met, she treated me like one of her nieces.
She loves adventure. On one of their trips to Manila, the 2 sisters travelled to my home in Navotas just to meet my mom. On their way to my home, they encountered a big traffic caused by the feast of the Immaculate Mary Concepcion. But instead of being irritated by the traffic, they enjoyed the halted time exploring and shopping from the vendors around. Tita Remy and Ate Amelia basically bought all the cashew nuts they found that day. And those cashew nuts travelled with them from my home town in the Philippines to California, and then to Canada.
She loves to write. I will surely miss her hand written cards on holidays. Text messages or email may be good but nothing is more special and more personal than a handwritten card delivered on your mailbox. I will forever treasure those precious moments she spent to write me a little note.
She is also a great cook. I am thankful for her Mochiko Cake recipe that she shared to me. The recipe was written very detailed, exact, and specific. And the mochiko cake was sweet and delicious!!!
I will fondly remember her just like her mochiko cake and the life lessons that came with it — Life needs directions. Life is a balance of exactness and spontaneity. Life can sometime throw you some sticky situations but regardless of what life throws at you, live life to the fullest because life is sweet especially if you’re surrounded with the people that matters most to you.
Tita Remy, you will be missed. Thank you for everything.
Rest In Peace.
Much love, Celine and family.

My sister ate Remy was one of the wonderful daughters God gave our parents, a loving and caring sister to her siblings .

Remy was a fantastic sister who was more like a mother to me in my 10 years spent in Canada. She brought me to Canada in 1972. After my nursing career, she took care of me, provided me shelter and all my needs. She was my confidant, shopping buddy, travel partner in the Philippines.

A tale of two sisters travelled to Vancouver.

She supported family with news updates when she was in her younger years but then as we got older, I became the one to give news to the family circle and friends because my ate did not have access to social media.

Ate, thanks for all the advice and guidance throughout my married life and with my family.

Your enthusiasm for life and love of family and friends was an inspiration to me. Your ability to make long-lasting friendships wherever you went was beautiful to witness. All my family and friends in California think the world of you. Your generosity every Christmas with your red envelopes was always greatly appreciated. The pecan tarts you always make during Christmas time, individually wrapped to give to my friends was always greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your unconditional love and support throughout the years despite of our distance. I will miss your phone calls and listen to your voicemails. You never fail to say I love you and be safe always even during our last conversation the Sunday of May 16 when you expressed to me that your pain was unbearable.

I told my ate to pray and ask God to relieve her pain and sufferings. It was difficult for me to get through the sorrow. I will miss you terribly ate . You will be forever in my heart. I love you ??

Your sister babes

Remy was a friend to me and an important member of the community at the condo on wonderland road. Always very friendly and natural, I was always at ease talking with her and enjoyed many a conversation up on the 14th floor during our weekly teas. I was sad to hear of her passing and will always remember her bright smile ,her laugh and charming manner. Condolences to the family.
