Dear Paul, Peter, Janice, Carolyn and Families:

Our sincere condolences on Mike's passing. Mike and your family had one of the biggest impact on my direction in life from my first appearance at Plaza Home Hardware to help count inventory, and opening the door for an interview in St. Jacobs. He was a mentor and friend who took an interest in one's developments in life. I always enjoyed time with Mike unwinding with a pint either at his apartment or the Market in St. Jacobs. Please accept our condolences and appreciation for Mike and the Stapylton family's contribution and development of a young part time employee.

Regards, Tim & Margot Dietrich, Halifax, NS

It is with great sadness to hear of Mike’s passing. I met Mike when I first started working at Wallace Home Hardware. Later when I bought the store Mike was always there with support of his knowledge that he had from years of operation. As an early member of Home Hardware Mikes retail knowledge was all encompassing. I had learned much from Mike and will always be greatfull for the guidance that he gave me.
My thoughts and prayers go to Mike and his family.

To the Stapylton family.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. In 1995, I had the privilege of meeting Mike as the Home Hardware Regional Manager for Southwestern Ontario. Plaza Home Hardware was a store I visited often and met with Mike and he became a very good friend and mentor. He always encouraged me to do my best. In 2010 Plaza Home Hardware was for sale and my family purchased the store. We had Mike at our Grand Opening of Harris Home Hardware. Mike will always be remembered for his contributions to Home Hardware in the London area. Our prayers and sympathies go out to the Stapylton family.

Paul, Peter, Janice and Carolyn,
My sincerest condolences to you and your families. I have very fond memories of working part time at the store for nine years, from the time I was in Grade 9 to when I graduated from Western. Plaza Home Hardware and the staff there were a big part of my life then. Mike had a significant positive impact on the lives of numerous young persons who worked at the store over the years.
Mike and Edna were good friends of our family and I was honoured that they came out to Saskatoon for my wedding in 1986.
I am sure he will be missed.

Janice, Carolyn, Peter, Paul and families. You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear
Dad. My husband, Chester, and
Mike we’re great friends since their
early 20’s. If laughs were golden they were surely rich. So many wonderful times with Mike and his
loved ones along the way. Mike was one of a kind. He loved Home
Hardware and obviously made such a big difference in many peoples’ lives. I’ll never forget the wonderful times we had with them and often
you, his family too. God bless you all. Love his photo. Having a good chuckle.
