Barb was my much treasured cousin who came home to Gengarry for all my childhood and many more years thereafter.
I had the privilege of being their bridesmaid at the Quebec wedding. Also ,I was there with her and her parents for Charles de Gaulle's famous visit to Quebec city.
She influenced my life with her love of adventure, her travels and stupendous courage and determination. She gave a lot to my life. Thank you.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your families for the loss of your mom. I was shocked to see her here (my mom passed the day before Barb) and was looking at my mom's AMG listing. I sure enjoyed knowing both your mom & dad at Chartwell. Laura, you are a gem! I enjoyed knowing you as well, take care......Jan @ Chartwell

Dear Laura, Ian & Glen & Families
We were so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. Thank you for letting us know. We have fond memories of our time in Baton Rouge. I remember how impressed we were with how Barb and John were such devoted parents.
Barb’s story was a story of courage. I remember that when diagnosed so many years ago, she declared that she would not die. She had a boy still in school and this was her main concern!
How lovely that she lived to enjoy grandchildren. Her book inspired others I’m sure. I know I passed it on to another friend with the same diagnosis.
You can all be very proud of your mom/grandmother.
Blessings
Pat and Don Poland
