Ted
I heard of Shirley's passing while at the Club. While we knew the event was going to occur but it is always sad when it is final.
Our thoughts have been with you for many months and will be on Thursday. Unfortunately Perlita and I will not be there as we are booked in Muskoka for 3 days.
We hope that Shirley was peaceful and comfortable in her final hours and that you may remember many happy times that you had together.

My favourite memory of Shirley is back in the 60's. While attending my brother's wedding in Windsor, I heard this fantastic, gorgeous voice singing in the choir loft behind me. When I turned around, there was Shirley. Absolutely amazing voice! We sometimes ran into her in Florida and talked about old times. Our sincere condolences to her family.

We were blessed in 1974 to have "Mrs. Jenkins" (my husband's high school English teacher) perform at our wedding in Amherstburg. We can still hear here beautiful voice filling the church 38 years later. She sang "The Twelfth of Never" and "We've Only Just Begun". The Choir of Angels in Heaven has a new soloist. May God keep her in His care and comfort her family at this most tender time.

This brings our heartfelt sympathies to Mr. Barber and to Brian, Gary and Glenna, their spouses and children as you all mourn the loss of dear Mrs. Jenkins-Barber. I have such happy memories of growing up at Glenwood United ---- and there's this soprano background music that could only be provided by Shirley Jenkins. I have always been warmly embraced by Shirley and am grateful that her long illness is over. This brings prayers for your grief and prayers of thanksgiving for having known such a happy soul. You've all been in our daily prayers for such a long time. with love and sympathy Valerie Moretti and family

Shirley was a bright star that shone and sang life's joy to those she knew and loved. We feel so blessed to have been a part of Shirley's life for so many years. Her frequent, newsy letters giving us all the details of her busy life, and updates on her beloved family, were highlights that kept us in such intimate touch that we never felt the long miles that divided us. We were so happy for Shirley when Ted and she married. The last few years have been wonderful for her, a new beginning. Thank you Ted.
We have been amazed by the way Shirley faced with courage and humour the serious health problems that arose. An inspiration to us all.

We will miss you, Shirley, and we hold your memory in our hearts.

Hello Ted
My deepest sympathy on Shirley's passing. She was such a vibrant, talented and outgoing person. Many years ago when I was a teenager at Clinton Collegiate Teen Town dances I first met Shirley as "the teacher's wife". Our paths crossed again as I heard her beautiful solos in Windsor. I'm so glad you had some years to spend together.
My thoughts are with you.

Dear Glenna, Gary, Brian and Ted,
This is such a small space to say all that Aunt Shirley was in my life. I shall always remember summers at OTF, winters in Florida, her part in my wedding both giving a shower and singing at the ceremony, and the last visit at Sakura House when she mustered the strength to caress Heidi's face in her hands. I shall always love and remember her. With love and deepest condolences from Judy Funkenhauser (Skoyles)
